Stupid thieves?

June 11th, 2008

I put my bicycle on a rather public place over the day yesterday. I was a bit surprised to see that one of my locks was missing when I returned. Luckily I had two locks on my bike, one wire lock used to fasten the bike against some solid object and one ordinary back wheel lock. The wire lock was cut off and was laying on the ground next to the bike. I would love to have seen the thieves face when the realized that there where two locks after cutting off the first :)

The bike, except for the lock, was unharmed with no damages and still works fine. Now I just have to buy a new lock...

Downtime and stuff

April 12th, 2006

Yeah, we have had some problems with the connection to Internet recently... I can just blame Telia. In the past, the connection has worked really good and stable but now...? Luckily we have two Internet connections here so we could put all the load in the other working line.

First they had about 2 days downtime due to lack of ip addresses, so they had to get some new. And after that we got an unreachable router. The new ip was 62.20.201.235, which is a new ip range for Telia, with the netmask 255.255.255.0 but with and router at 62.20.20.1, how should I reach that? ;) I guess it was a typing error from the guy how set up the network since manually adding 62.20.201.1 as a router worked.

Well now it's working fine again after about 1 week and some phone calls :) Will hopefully do so in the future too.

Power hosting for Power users

September 25th, 2005

Today we moved pegasos.org to a new server, hopefully a faster server. The previous machine was a Pegasos I G3 600 MHz with 256 MB of RAM. The new one is a Pegasos II G4 1GHz with 1024 MB of RAM and dual connection to the Internet. Yes that's right, it now has two connection to Internet, I blogged about that earlier. Read more at http://www.kozz.org/?postid=4. Simply run something like 'dig pegasos.org' and you will see that it gives you two ips in "random" order.

We hope this give all users of pegasos.org a better experience and maybe better responce time... as that was a problem before? Anyway, the future will tell if this is better or not :)

Power to the people and happy surfing.

First of all I want to warn all you bloggers, Warning!. I know it's in swedish but in general in warns people for writing bad things about work in the blog, should I be scared... ?

Also, I recently wrote a Ubuntu Hoary Hedgehog Installation Guide for Pegasos, it really works very well.

And since some other people on Planet Pegasos.org posted their workplaces I can post a link to mine to, My workplace.

Blog about blog on this planet

July 14th, 2005

As you might, or might not have seen there is now a Planet Pegasos.org online. So all of you who not already are subscribed to it, it's time to do that now.

Hopefully it should now work without any problems. One of the reasons I'm writing this is to test if it updates correctly.

But it took a while to get it to work. The first thing was to use a custom stylesheet outside postnuke, I had to make my own header instead of the default one. For this I "stole" some code from PNphpBB which solved the problem after some modifications. And since I have configured my firewall really hard for the webserver, it does not allow any unknown connection to the internet from that box, there was some problems with downloading the remote feeds. But it's good it actually works :) Unforntunately it makes it very hard to automatically add users so that will problably never be the case.

Anyway, now it just need to be used, keep blogging blogging blogging...
